Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand state, and it is also well known for higher education center. Dehradun is situated in the Doon Valley and at the altitude of 639 mts above from the sea level. The modern town of Dehradun was founded by Guru Ram Rai in the 18th Century. Guru Ram Rai was the son of Sikh Guru Har Rai who was the seventh Guru of Sikh Religion. The City is surrounded by Himalayas peak in the north, Shivalik hills in south, the holy river Ganga in east and the holy river Yamuna in the west side. Dehradun is one of the largest cities in Uttarakhand.

Forest Research institute: - Forest research institute is one of the most famous forest institutes in India; it is also a Museum and botanical garden. You can visit here to see many amazing things in the Museum.
Buddha Temple: - This temple is mostly dedicated to God Buddha, and Bodha Religion.
Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple: - This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located near the Garhi Cant.
Sahastradhara: - Sahastradhara is one of most beautiful place in Dehradun; You can see here the cave and water are coming in the cave as like fall and stream, it is 15 km far from the Dehradun city. The Dhara means Small River; you can also take bath in Gandhak or Sulpher Kund.
Rover’s Cave: - Rover’s Cave is also a good and beautiful place in Dehradun, and it is surrounded by mountains hills. You can visit here the Cave and the fall of water, it is also a good picnic spot. In local language it is known as “Guchhu Pani”. It is located 8 km far from the Dehradun city.
Tapovan: - Tapovan is an awesome place in Dehradun, located near the Sahastradhara crossing. It is surrounded by Green Valleys’, and it is known for Mediation center and spiritual place.
