Gaurikund is a holy place in Uttarakhand, here’s the trek start to the Kedarnath Dham. Gaurikund is well known for hot water kund (Pond) and panoramic views of Himalayas. It is situated in the Rudraprayag districts of Uttarakhand state. It is located at the altitude of 1982 mts above from the sea level. It offers many types of interesting place with view of snow capped Himalayas. Gaurikund is lies between Son-Prayag and Kedarnath. And its distance from Son-Prayag is 5 kms. it is situated at the bank of river Mandakini, which meets with alaknanda at Rudraprayag and make a holy confluence.
The hot water kund is one of the most interesting things in Gaurikund, because it is natural and everyone can take a holy dip in this hot water pond. Tourists who are came there to visit Kedarnath then they are also taken a bath in hot water kund because there is cold weather at the time of summer. You can also visit the holy temple of Gauri Devi (Hindu’s God), it is said that Goddess Parwati meditated here to attains lord Shiva.
